It also helps protect your loved ones, minimize conflict, and, in many cases, avoid the time, expense, and stress of probate. A will is a set of instructions that takes effect after you pass away and usually requires your loved ones to go through probate before your assets can be distributed. A trust takes effect as soon as it's created and funded, allows someone you choose to manage your assets if you become incapacitated, and can help your loved ones avoid the time, expense, and stress of probate after your death.

• First, we’ll meet for our initial consultation. The first portion of the meeting is educational, where I’ll talk about how your estate planning documents work together to protect you and your loved ones. The second portion is the design portion, where we’ll talk about who you want to step in and act on your behalf if you can’t make decisions yourself. 

• After the initial meeting, if you decide that you would like me to work on your estate plan, I’ll draft your documents and compile any necessary documents. 

• We’ll then have a review meeting where we’ll go over your estate planning documents together to make sure you know where to find information and to ensure the plan aligns with your wishes. 

• The last step is the signing meeting, where a travelling notary and a witness will come to you and you’ll sign and notarize your documents. That’s it! 

• The process was designed to be as easy for you as possible while ensuring you have a full understanding of your estate planning documents.

No, everything is done remotely! You can complete your estate plan from the comfort of your home.

The Estate Planning Questionnaire should be completed and sent to us prior to our meeting so we can customize your estate plan. If you have the most recent copy of your grant deed, that would be great! If not, we can pull a copy from the Recorder’s Office for you. If you own any businesses, we’ll need a copy of your Bylaws. We don’t need any bank statements.

Completing your estate plan can take 3 weeks if we have all the necessary documents on hand and agents named, or a month or two if there are delays in receiving documents or naming agents.
